Our History

Kuk Sool Won™ – Rohnert Park Martial Arts (RPMA) began in 1994 where the dojang (school) was originally located in Petaluma.  Debra Kwang Jang Nim began ownership and operation of the school in 2002.  The school obtained much success although the building located on Petaluma Boulevard was a very small, metal sided building with no air conditioning this made the location quite a hardship for training with a large number of students and in the hot summer months.

After much consideration, Kwang Jang Nim Debra decided to make a move to Rohnert Park in 2008, where the school could serve several towns within the county in a larger and in a more centralized location.   This proved to be an excellent decision as the school began to flourish with just “word of mouth” advertising.

The students have obtained much success in their training and paths to black belt including several grand champion placements at the Pacific Coast Tournament and the school as a whole winning the “Top Point” School Award for the past 8 years in a row!

We have always humbled ourselves in service by using our talents to make contributions to the community in a program we call “The Hands and Feet”.  We’ve organized “Kick-a-Thons” and make many charitable contributions to various organizations and donate time and supplies to our local schools as well.  We are proud of our amazing students and how Kuk Sool Won™ is making an incredible difference in their lives and the community around us.

– In you we continue to serve, Kuk Sool !
